Tour of the State Academic Russian Orchestra named after V.V. Andreev within the framework of the program «We are Russia» in the year of the 135th anniversary of the foundation

5, 7, 9 and 10 October 2023. State Academic Russian Orchestra named after V. V. Andreev will perform a concert program «135 years of the Andreevsky Orchestra» in Yaroslavl, Vologda, Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk within the framework of the federal program «We are Russia» in accordance with the All-Russian tour and concert plan of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The program is implemented by the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture ROSCONCERT.

The group is performing in Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk for the first time.

«The idea of recreating a unified touring system received an incredible response from creative groups across the country. The programs «Big Tours» and «We are Russia» of the All-Russian touring and concert plan attract more and more participants every year. Hundreds of artists have the opportunity to go on tour to different parts of our country, gain unique professional experience and a boost of creative energy, and residents of large and small Russian cities have the opportunity to see the best performances and concerts,» noted the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation. Olga Lyubimova.

At the beginning of the tour, the State Academic Russian Orchestra named after V. V. Andreyev will visit Yaroslavl, where it gave concerts back in the late 19th century (tour of 1891 and 1895).

The Orchestra has visited Vologda several times. The group's first performance in this city took place during Vasily Andreev's lifetime (in 1918), during a trip to the Red Army fronts. The Orchestra is closely connected with Vologda musically: a special place in the ensemble’s repertoire is occupied by the music of a native of the Vologda region, composer Valery Gavrilin. In 2019, the Andreevsky Orchestra took part in the International Music Gavrilin Festival.

The group will perform in Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk for the first time.
