Dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory...

This year marks the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory. On May 10, a concert of the Andreevsky Orchestra dedicated to this date will take place in the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic named after D.D. Shostakovich. The Great Victory put an end to fascism - this is an event that resonates in the heart of every inhabitant of our country.

The program will feature works by V. Andreev, K. Listov, A. Novikov, E. Petersburgskiy, K. Molchanov, N. Bogoslovsky, V. Solovyov-Sedoy, V. Gavrilin, D. Shostakovich, V. Levashov, M. Fradkin, I. Luchenok, Ya. Frenkel, B. Mokrousov, D. Tukhmanov. The ensemble will perform under the direction of artistic director and principal conductor, People's Artist of Russia Dmitry Khokhlov.

«Wait for me, and I will return...», «It is not easy for me to reach you, and four steps to death...» - each of the stanzas of war songs takes us back to that unforgettable era about which we hear so much and still know so little. The words and melodies of these songs again and again bring our thoughts back to those who managed to defend our Motherland and gave life to you and me, to the next generations. And how beautiful these songs are! «Nightingales, nightingales, don’t disturb the soldiers, let the soldiers get some sleep...» says Dmitry Khokhlov.

The orchestra will feature soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre Alexander Trofimov (tenor) and Tsvetana Omelchuk (mezzo-soprano).
