Vladimir Fonin
Honored Artist of Russia, concertmaster of the accordion group, conductor, head of the orchestra's soloist’s ensemble.

Born in the city of Otradny, Kuibyshev region. Here, at the music school, he received his first musical education, continued his studies at the Kuibyshev Music College and the Leningrad Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov in the accordion class, where the musician’s mentors were D.A. Matyushkov, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Professor P.I. Govorushko, Honored Artist of the RSFSR V.N. Tikhov.

Since 1990 – soloist of the orchestra named after V.V.Andreev. In 1997, he created an ensemble of soloists, which performs with great success in the best concert halls of St. Petersburg, Europe, Asia, Africa and the USA.

Vladimir Fonin is a virtuoso player of the button accordion and rare Russian instruments: harmonicas, zhaleikas, Vladimir horns, Russian bagpipes «koza», and ocarinas. Author of original compositions for Russian instruments and a master of arrangement for orchestra and instrumental ensembles.

He was awarded the silver medal «For the Preservation of Russian Musical Culture» and is a member of the Union of Concert Workers of St. Petersburg.
