Ekaterina Lomova
Artist of the first alto domras group, soloist of the orchestra

She graduated from the Lyceum of the Okhtinsky Center for Humanitarian and Aesthetic Education in the domra class of L.A. Petukhova and the St. Petersburg College of Music named after M.P. Mussorgsky, where she studied under the guidance of the Honored Cultural Worker of Russia N.A. Shubin. She started playing the alto domra while attending college, and she associated this instrument with her future artistic endeavors. She continued her musical education in the class of T.O. Potemkina of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov. Laureate of international competitions.

Ekaterina Lomova plays the alto domra on three and four strings and is a good ensemble musician. She performed in concert halls of St. Petersburg in a domra duet and as part of the Intrada quartet. Since 2005 she has been an artist of the State Academic Russian Orchestra named after V.V.Andreev, soloist of the collective.

In 2013, together with the artists of the Andreevsky Orchestra Lyubov Gorodnaya and Ivan Amolin, she took part in a creative experiment to reconstruct the performing style of domra players from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In 2015, she graduated from the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture with a master's degree in cultural studies, defending her thesis on the topic of «Representation of national images in the musical culture of Russia in the 18th - early 20th centuries», related to the history of the Andreevsky Orchestra. Currently writes texts for Internet projects, conducts research work with archives of notes and historical documents of the group.
