Dedication to Valery Gavrilin

State Academic Russian Orchestra named after V.V. Andreev invites you to a unique concert dedicated to the memory of the great Soviet and Russian composer Valery Gavrilin. On August 17, 2024, Valery Alexandrovich would have turned 85 years old.

His music, full of drama, lyricism and spiritual depth, became a symbol of the era and penetrated the hearts of listeners all over the world. Along with Gavrilin’s music, the concert program will feature music by his contemporaries and musical predecessors – Georgy Sviridov and Dmitry Shostakovich.

Some of the works in the program are dedicated to another date, significant in the history of the Andreyev Orchestra - the 160th anniversary of the composer Nikolai Fomin. The composer, together with Andreyev, is the creator of the orchestra of Russian instruments. The concert will feature his arrangements of folk songs, as well as several original pieces.

Conductor: Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Andreevsky Orchestra, People's Artist of Russia Dmitry Khokhlov.

We invite all admirers of Russian music to a meeting with the works of composers whose works embody the true Russian spirit.
