St. Petersburg performing school. Through Tradition to Modernity

On April 29, at 19:00, the State Academic Chapel will host a grand concert «St. Petersburg Performing School. «Through Tradition to Modernity.» The project of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A., which has already become a favorite among St. Petersburg residents, Rimsky-Korsakov's «Constellation of Talents» will present a new program of brilliant performers - leading musicians and groups of the city on the Neva.

The highlight of the evening will be the performance of the legendary State Academic Russian Orchestra named after V.V. Andreev, who celebrated his 135th birthday last year. Artistic director and principal conductor is People's Artist of the Russian Federation Dmitry Khokhlov, conductor is Sergey Fedoseenko.

The modern sound of folk instruments will leave an unforgettable impression. The concert will feature both young performers and already famous musicians, winners of international competitions: Anastasia Fedoseenko, Oleg and Rustam Gafarov, Natalia Churina, Anastasia Skokova, Lyubov Samatova, Pavel Shlyakov, Dmitry Pakhomov, Anna Kharchenko, Maxim Vovk, Luka Simich, Maxim Belnik.

A new facet of the sound of folk instruments will be revealed by their combination with the instruments of a symphony orchestra. Accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, soloists will perform, as well as a unique group - a unison of domra and balalaika players of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory (directed by Evgeny Zhelinsky). Conductors: artistic director of the orchestra, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Arkady Shteynlucht and Ilya Sitkin.
