New Year with the Andreevsky Orchestra

On January 10th, a real musical miracle will happen in the Chapel! The Andreevsky Orchestra invites everyone to a festive concert that will fill your hearts with warmth and your souls with the magic of the New Year! This evening will be a real fairy tale, where music will tell its exciting stories.

In the first part you will go on a journey through enchanting melodies. The evening will open with the exquisite waltz «Dreams» by Vasily Andreev, which will fill the hall with an atmosphere of dreaminess. Then the waltz from the ballet «Life is a Dream» by Nikolai Fomin will take you into the world of dreams. The sonorous folk tunes will be performed in Boris Troyanovsky's arrangement, and then Natalya Sushkova (balalaika) will perform soulful variations on the theme of the song «Here the post troika rushes». The concert will continue with the gentle «Russian Song» by Sergei Rachmaninoff, after which the hall will be enveloped in the tranquility of Tchaikovsky’s «In the Church», followed by the perky «Russian Dance» performed by soloist Anastasia Fedoseenko (domra). The first part will end with the concert Adagio from the ballet Spartacus by Aram Khachaturian, woven from power and passion.

The second half of the evening will reveal a world of incredible contrasts. The delightful suite from the ballet «Creation of the World» by Andrei Petrov will take you to the moments of creation of miracles. It will be followed by the sparkling «Perezvony» by Valery Gavrilin, reminiscent of the ringing holidays of childhood. The enchanting Gogol Suite by Viktor Pleshak will bring to life images from The Night Before Christmas. Then Nikolai Biryukov’s «Skomoroshina» will give you the cheerful spirit of folk festivities, and Rodion Shchedrin’s «Dance with Balalaikas» will take you back to the world of fairy tales. The evening will end with the festive Waltz and Gallop by Vadim Bibergan, painting the finale of the evening in bright and joyful colors.

Every note of this evening will sound like a New Year's miracle, and the magic of the music created by the orchestra under the direction of Sergei Fedoseenko will stay with you for a long time.
