Magical sounds of Nay

The Andreevsky Orchestra invites you to take a musical journey through the fiery rhythms of Eastern European folk dances.

At the group's concerts, not only balalaikas, domras and gusli are often played, but also instruments from other nations of the world. In February, the orchestra will feature a guest from Moldova, Igor Podgoryanu, a performer on the Moldovan nai (pan flute).

The Pan flute, amazing in its simplicity, is a truly international instrument. The beginning of the instrument's history is considered to be Ancient Greece; now the Pan flute (nai) is especially popular in Romania and Moldova. The sounds of the nai bring nature, spring and the voices of birds to life.

The Andreevsky Orchestra and Igor Podgoryanu will present a joyful and inspiring program, foreshadowing the mood of the coming spring. The concert will feature works with Romanian and Moldovan national flavor, as well as dance masterpieces by Johannes Brahms and Bela Bartok.
