Music of the Great Victory

State Academic Russian Orchestra named after V.V. Andreev invites you to a gala concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Songs from the war years, familiar to several generations of Russian people, will be featured in the concert program in combination with fragments of the oratorio «Winners!» The oratorio was written by St. Petersburg composer Viktor Pleshak especially for the Andreevsky Orchestra for the 80th anniversary of the Victory. Oratorio numbers for soloists accompanied by an orchestra will be included in the evening's program. The verses taken as their basis personify the strength, courage and unbending spirit of the victorious people.

At the conductor's stand is People's Artist of Russia Dmitry Khokhlov.

Soloists: laureates of international competitions, soloists Svetlana Moskalenko (soprano, Mikhailovsky Theatre), Alexander Mikhailov (tenor, Mariinsky Theatre), Alexander Shakhov (baritone, Mikhailovsky Theatre).

We invite you to hear music born at the same time as the Great Victory and our contemporary!
