On the 110th anniversary of G. Sviridov

State Academic Russian Orchestra named after V.V. Andreev invites you to an evening dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of Georgy Sviridov, one of the most profound and original Russian composers of the 20th century.

At the conductor's stand is the artistic director, chief conductor of the Andreevsky Orchestra, People's Artist of Russia Dmitry Khokhlov.

The concert program includes the famous «Kursk Songs» performed by the orchestra and choir of the Institute of Culture under the direction of Larisa Yarutskaya, as well as everyone’s favorite musical illustrations to Alexander Pushkin’s story «The Snowstorm.»

Sviridov's melodies, which have absorbed all the beauty and power of Russian folk songs, will sound with special soulfulness when performed by the renowned group. And the famous «Blizzard» will transport listeners to the world of Pushkin’s prose, where music becomes a full-fledged storyteller.

This evening is an opportunity to rediscover Sviridov’s music: the one that touches the soul, stirs memories and reminds us of eternal values.
